  • Knut Frostad

    Chief Executive:
    Knut Frostad

    Knut has made the smooth transition from offshore skipper to the helm of the Volvo Ocean Race. His links with the race date back to the 1993-94 race when he was helmsman on the second-placed Intrum Justitia. He was skipper and project founder/director on Innovation Kvaerner in 1997-98 and on Djuice Dragons in 2001-02. In 2005-06 he was watch leader and technical advisor with Brasil 1. He has participated on the Olympic Games and competed in various other professional races and classes. Knut also has a business background in management, director and advisor positions with international companies. As well he is a recognised motivational speaker.

  • Jack Lloyd, Race Director

    Race Director:
    Jack Lloyd

    Jack has vast experience in professional race management. He was Chairman of the International Jury for the 2005-06 Volvo Ocean Race and was a member of the jury for two previous races. He has been an International Umpire since 1993 and an International Judge since 1996, he is an ISAF International Umpire Test Administrator and is Chairman of the Test Administration Group. He completed two America’s Cups as an umpire and jury member, was Rules Advisor to both OneWorld in 2002-03 and Emirates Team New Zealand in the 32nd America’s Cup in Valencia.

  • Andrew Ferguson

    Technology Director:
    Andrew Ferguson

    Andrew now considers himself a veteran of the Volvo Ocean Race having worked on the last two events. Having worked in IT for almost ten years, he previously worked in the automotive industry before joining the race. For the 2008-09 event Andrew looked after technology and the race's new media strategy. In his spare time, Andrew is an active member of his hometown yacht club.

  • Antonio Boloñas

    Chief Financial Director:
    Antonio Bolaños Lopez

    Antonio has a strong background in financial management and strategy. Previously, he was Financial Planning Director for Optenet as well as Corporate Controller and Internal Audit Director for Abengoa Bioenergia at their Bioenergy Business Unit in the USA. Prior to that role, Antonio was Auditing Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

  • Greg Miall

    Commercial Director:
    Greg Miall

    Greg brings considerable commercial experience and influence to the Volvo Ocean Race, with strong a background in sponsorship activation, global media and innovative partnerships. In a past life he was Managing Director of Sport magazine in the UK and Global Sales Director of newspaper group Metro International.

  • Adam Binns

    Director of Television
    Adam Binns

    Adam has worked in the television and film industry for 14 years on a range of projects including Formula One, UEFA Champions League and the Rugby World Cup. He was formerly Commercial Director of Dutch television and production company, Off the Fence and his background includes senior positions at ITV, BSkyB and TWI. He has extensive experience in commercial broadcast negotiation and will be responsible for devising and implementing the broadcast strategy for the race.

  • Pedro Galván

    Marketing & Communications Director
    Pedro Galván Paris

    Pedro has an exceptional background in Strategic and Operative Marketing as well as in Sports Marketing. He was the Chief Marketing Officer of Euroleague Basketball for over five years where he focused heavily on the sports marketing and partnerships agreements, especially concentrating on the brand building experience. Pedro has also taught in several premier business schools and himself has ESADE and IESE degrees.
